Multi-State Compliance

Where does your business owe tax? What about your employees? Remote workers, multi-state operations, and e-commerce create nexus exposure most owners don't realize they have.

What it is

Multi-state compliance is the work of figuring out where your business has tax-filing obligations — income tax, sales tax, payroll tax — and getting current on each. Nexus rules vary by state, change frequently, and trip up businesses that grow online or hire remote staff without realizing the implications.

We do the nexus analysis, then handle the registrations, filings, and ongoing compliance state by state. Often we coordinate with your existing CPA in another state rather than replace them.

Who it's for

  • E-commerce businesses crossing economic-nexus thresholds in new states
  • Businesses with remote employees in multiple states
  • Companies expanding operations or contractors across state lines
  • Owners receiving notices from a state they didn't realize they owed tax to
  • Multi-state real estate investors

What's included

  • Nexus analysis — economic, physical, and employee nexus by state
  • State income tax registration and filing
  • Sales tax registration, filing, and remittance
  • Multi-state payroll setup and ongoing compliance
  • Voluntary disclosure programs when needed to come current safely
  • Coordination with state tax counsel when audits arise

How pricing works

Pricing is per-state and per-tax-type. A quick scoping call confirms how many states are in play and what's needed. A Multi-State Module is being built as a future membership add-on with cleaner published pricing.
